Title: The Beautiful Things
by Donna Willoughby
The Beautiful Things
Dear Friend,
“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched.
They must be felt with the heart.”
Helen Keller wrote these words. So
fitting in my life over the past few years.
I have received many glorious gifts in my life. Gifts from God. Gifts that
cannot be wrapped in colored paper. Nor boxed and tied up with ribbons.
Gifts of His love that cannot be lost, broken or taken away. Treasured gifts
not given once a year, but daily. Gifts in the form of gentle words, caring
smiles, listening ears and loving eyes.
What is a Christian? It is the love of Christ given freely from one being
to another. Answers to prayers sent in human form. That come in various
shapes and sizes. These gifts of love, I call friends.
Needless to say as I list these gifts, your name appears. Due to your love
of Christ and your eagerness to share His love, my own spiritual journey
has been an easier one.
How comforting to know you are there! Nightly, I thank God for your presence
in my life. For the gift of you!
Friends! These unwrappable, unbreakable gifts of God’s love, I hold close
to my heart. Cherished always and shared often with others.
My gift to you is simply the prayer that you also feel this blessing of
friendship in your heart. To return to you all the love that you so generously
bestow upon others. To affirm the fact that you carry your cross well. Your
love of Christ indeed touches others.
I pray you be blessed with the knowledge of His abiding love in you. That
you feel this blessing with the same intensity I feel at this very moment.
May you be blessed with His peace and grace in your heart. For these my
friend, are truly the “Beautiful things in life”.
Love, Godsibb
