Title: DO YOU HEAR ME?
by Donna Willoughby
DO YOU HEAR ME?
John 21:15-17
Do you hear me?
Do you hear me?
Do you hear me calling you?
I am calling
Hear my voices
Words crying out from more than a few
I am calling from the darkness of my prison cell
I'm on my knee's asking for forgivness, from His grace I fell
I am crying in the streets, no home to call my own
Living in a cardboard box, living all alone
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
I am the battered child in need
Will you heed me?
Will you help me?
I am the one asking you to feed
To feed not just my body, for my spirit needs feeding too
Please open up deaf ears, my helpless voice is calling you
I'm the one with no family, entering your church door
Searching for the friendly face, of a servant of the Lord
Do you hear me?
Can't you hear me?
I am the one He calls His child
Needing comfort
Words of His love
Words I have not heard in quite awhile
I'm the baby who cries itself to sleep
The abandoned one, do you hear me weep?
I am the one who lost the job, now begging on the street
I am the outcast, very few look to meet
Will you clothe me?
Feed and shelter me?
Do you hear my desperate call
Living in each
Needy soul
I am the Christ abiding in one and all
I am the Christ!
Do you hear me calling you?
