The Right Person - the Wrong Name

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Yahshua the Anointed One. (1 Cor.3:11)

This scripture will be familiar to most Christians until they get to the last phrase – the Name. Then, because of the unfamiliar true Name, which they usually reject in favour of a centuries old counterfeit name - Jesus, will continue to live a mediocre Christian life with very little spiritual authority. They will continue to suffer defeat at the hands of the enemy, who ironically has already been defeated by the Son of God.

Yes, fundamental Christianity is worshiping the right person, the Son of the living God, who is also the Lamb of God. He is the one who sacrificed and laid down His life by shedding His precious Blood for the sin and iniquity of the whole world. He is the one who was sent by His Father YAHWEH to be the Saviour of mankind. Both the Father and the Son were motivated by love – unconditional agape love. The Father was motivated by His love for mankind – the world. (John 3:16) The Son was motivated by His love for the Father. (John 8:29)

I am well aware that this is probably the most controversial doctrine yet in the contemporary Church. But truth has always been controversial. The very Personification of Truth – Yahshua Himself, was the most controversial person who ever lived. He was willing to give His life for the truth. The great controversy that He brought was that He was the great I AM – YAHWEH in the flesh. (John 8:58) For that truth they eventually killed Him.

I believe that this doctrine of His Name is being revealed to the Church worldwide by the Spirit of God. Even a superficial internet search on this subject shows that this is so. The Name doctrine is not occurring in a few isolated cases. It is literally happening all over the world. Before I was even aware of this, the Spirit showed me that His main purpose for me personally was to teach this revelation to the Body of Christ (the Anointed One). Through prophecy confirmed by the Scriptures, He revealed that this was the task He had been preparing me for all my life.

So, we’re worshiping the right Person. We believe in the Son of God. We’ve been born again (saved) by receiving the Saviour – God’s Son into our lives. But we’ve got hold of the wrong name, a name that the enemy of God successfully managed to get the Church to accept. Many Christians do not believe that names are very significant. Therefore in spite of what God’s Word says about His Name, they also do not believe that His Name has much significance. But eternity will show that it is in fact the counterfeit name, which has knee-haltered the Church of God and made it the weak institution that it still is.

Only God’s grace has kept the sick Church alive through the centuries. But because He allowed the seed of this untruth into the Church, does not mean He approved of it. He has allowed it to germinate and grow and bring forth fruit of unrighteousness. But that doesn’t mean to say He is helpless. He is the Sovereign LORD, but because He permits evil it doesn’t mean He approves of it. After all, He allowed Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, which plunged mankind into the abyss of destruction. Was that His will? Of course not! But He allowed it.

The latest apparent victory of evil over good – the terrorist attack on America, WAS NOT GOD’S WILL. But He allowed it. Why? Was He helpless to prevent it? I think not. About 25 years ago about 15 American missionary families were butchered by godless terrorists. On a peaceful summer evening, at the Elim Mission station, in the east of Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) these demon possessed, cowardly terrorists attacked.

First the men and children were murdered in cold blood, then the women were herded into the bush and repeatedly raped by the terrorist gang before being hacked to pieces with knives and axes. Apart from the number of people killed, that attack was much more bestial than that which happened in America recently. The difference was the world’s reaction then and now. Then there was a deafening silence from the whole world. Even the Christian western world remained silent at these terrorist atrocities. It appeared as though those missionaries and thousands of innocent people died in vain. Now, at last, the world is sitting up and taking notice.

Then, because it happened far from the “free” western nations, the plight of that little nation which stood alone for peace and freedom against the entire world, was completely ignored by all. The result is that today Zimbabwe has been virtually destroyed economically and politically. There is very little freedom left there, apart from the peace of God which passes all understanding, ruling in the hearts of men and women whose trust is in the Almighty God. A once thriving nation has been reduced to a poverty-stricken begging nation by the terrorists who are in power. They were then regarded by the world including the United States and other western nations as freedom fighters, and funded by a liberal so-called Christian church. Now suddenly the world calls them terrorists. They never were freedom fighters who brought freedom to their people. They were and still are power hungry terrorists fighting to fulfil their own greed and lust for power.

The point is that God has given mankind freedom of choice. Man chose to use that freedom to rebel against God, and became a slave to sin and evil. God has not abandoned His creation. He has done everything He could to redeem man from the wrong choice he made. In redeeming man, God did not take away the gift of freedom of choice. What He did essentially was to choose to give up His freedom by willingly laying down His life for every person. Then He gave each person a choice between life and death. A person chooses life when he believes that Yahshua died for him personally. He chooses death by rejecting Yahshua’s death on his behalf. In His mercy and grace, God allows each person to freely make that choice.

The evil in the world today is the result of millions upon millions of wrong choices made by individual people. The only answer individually, nationally and internationally, is to willingly lay down our wills in obedience to His will as revealed in the Scriptures.

Of course, the enemy is still doing his deceiving work internationally and individually. He has been defeated, but he is still causing havoc in the world and in the Church through deception. God allows it. Why? Because He has given us His Word which clearly points the way to Him. The problem is that very often the Church rejects the clear teaching of Scripture. That has been the pattern from the very beginning. Every time the Spirit reveals a Scriptural truth, which had been lost due to deception, there is tremendous controversy in the Church.

I cannot think of a single instance where a revelation has been restored to the Church by the Spirit, that there has not been much fighting and disunity. It is always so that initially only a small minority accepts a revelation and then under go tremendous persecution for it from their own brothers and sisters. Eventually they have no option but to break away in order to survive. This is exactly what is happening with the restoration of the Father and the Son’s authentic Names in the Church today.

I believe that every individual believer will be confronted with the truth of the Saviour’s Name. Every believer will be free to exercise his freedom of choice. Embrace the true Name - Yahshua, or, because of sentiment continue with the traditional, counterfeit, Babylon inspired name – Jesus.

Church history teems with well-researched and documented examples of Biblical truths that have been restored to the Body of Christ by the Spirit through the avenue of revelation to individual men of God. Justification by faith, Believer’s Baptism by immersion, Sanctification by faith, the Gifts of the Spirit and the Faith Message are a few examples.

Therefore we ought not be surprised when the Church as a whole rejects this truth as well at first. It is my personal belief that as faith in the Name grows – faith comes by hearing the Word (Name) of God (Rom.10:13), and as a result of that faith, great signs and wonders start happening in the Name, that there is shortly going to be a surge of believers as a floodgate opening, who will come into and embrace this revelation. Yet as with every other revelation, the vast majority will remain indifferent to it, some will even militantly oppose it.

I am already personally experiencing this opposition. The sad thing is that no one has yet shown me with Scripture where I have gone wrong in my interpretation of what the Word teaches about the Name. I have been told that I am in heresy, and yet these same leaders who accuse me of this, refuse to examine the Word with regard to this teaching. One leader told me that he is sorry that I had wasted my time in all the research and studying I had done on this doctrine. Another leader who had been appointed by the elders of his church to look into this teaching said that he didn’t have the time to examine my biblical research. He was already biased against the teaching, so it’s obvious what report he will return to his elders.

In spite of submitting my teaching to several leaders, I am still waiting for feedback from them showing me from Scripture where I have gone wrong. One leader had the presumption, after I had asked him whether I could submit the teaching to him, to give me a long teaching on the counterfeit name. He said that was what the Lord was really trying to reveal to me, but that I had gone off on a tangent on my own. What saddened me is that he had not even looked at my teaching, and therefore could not show me by Scripture where I was erring.

The church where I was personally involved in leadership is a sad story. It was a thriving fellowship of about 250 members. About a year ago, three of us in the congregation, quite independently of each other received this revelation. We were in different home churches, but started sharing what the Lord was showing us. Being in leadership, I shared it with my pastor. He agreed with me that it was absolutely Scriptural, but said to me very emphatically; “I will not teach this to the congregation because it will cause too much confusion.” At a leadership meeting I was threatened that I would be taken off leadership if I continued with this Name business.

Well, God’s curse came upon that church. Within 8 months of that meeting a couple in leadership was divorced. The pastor has left his wife and in spite of much counseling is going ahead with divorce proceedings. That church is virtually destroyed. There are two home churches left functioning, and no Sunday services. There were several ladies in the church whose husbands did not serve the Lord. Now there is talk amongst them that if the pastor has the right to leave his wife only because he doesn’t love her anymore, then why can’t they leave their ungodly husbands. One lady is making plans to divorce her husband.

Do you think I am being judgmental by saying that God’s curse is upon that church? Well, consider the following Scripture. YAHWEH Himself is speaking.

And now, O you priests (leaders) this commandment is for you. If you will not hear, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto My Name, says YAHWEH of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart. (Mal.2:1-2)

Granted, its an Old Testament Scripture, but the Old Testament has not been done away with. Our Lord was obedient to and fulfilled the Law and the Prophets. You might say; “But Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law” (Gal.3:13) That’s true, but let’s look closely at that Scripture. The word Christ is the Greek translation of the Hebrew word Massiach (Messiah) which means Anointed One. In Song 1:3 we are taught that His Name is ointment or the Anointing poured forth. Isaiah 10:27 says that it is the Anointing that destroys the yoke or curse. So it would not be inaccurate to write Galatians 3:13 in this way; His Name, through faith in His Name has redeemed us from the curse of the Law. Therefore if a person, especially a leader in the Church deliberately rejects the Name, can he expect to be redeemed from the curse when he refuses the Ointment, which God has supplied as the antidote against that curse?

Yes we know that Galatians 3:13 is referring to the Person of Yahshua who has redeemed us. But His Person cannot be separated from His Name. His Name is His identity. It’s an integral part of Him. Furthermore, many other Scriptures confirm that it is faith in His Name that redeems or saves us. (John 1:12, 3:18, Acts 3:16, 4:12, Rom.10:13)

The God who curses in the Old Testament is the same God who supplied the remedy for that curse. Yahshua – yes that’s His only Name, is that remedy. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Heb.13:8) It’s the same Person with the same Name. It was never changed, not by Him anyway.

But I don’t want to give the impression that the whole church is rejecting this doctrine out of hand. In my sphere of influence there are two pastors who after having given this teaching a fair hearing, have embraced it and are teaching it to their congregations. Both these pastors had initial misgivings, not about the Biblical foundation of the teaching, but they were concerned about the effect a 180 turnabout on the name used for the Saviour would have on their congregations. But they were obedient to the Spirit and found that their fears were unfounded. Their congregations fully embraced the authentic Name of the Saviour with resultant blessings.

Another incident, which really encouraged me was this. The Lord told me to go and share this revelation with a well known prophet whom I had never met. I made an appointment to see him one evening and when I arrived at his house he met me at the door and we introduced ourselves. He had no idea what I had come to see him about. As he invited me into the house, he suddenly stopped and looked at me with a funny expression on his face. Then he said; “Brother, that which the Lord has revealed to you is the truth. You are to share it with the Church.” Of course, that put paid to any doubt that I might still have had that this was of God. I said to him; “How do you know it’s the truth if you don’t even know what I have been shown?” He said; “I don’t know what the Lord has revealed to you, but I know the voice of God, and He has just told me that this revelation is of Him, and you are to teach it boldly to the Church.”

Well, we went into his house and I shared the whole teaching with him. He was extremely excited about it, and invited me to share it the following Sunday at his congregation.

As a Church we are worshiping the right Person, but we are using the wrong name. It’s time brothers and sisters to give glory to His Name and therefore to Him. It’s time for the true Church to start walking up and down on this earth in His mighty Name. It’s time that the true Church is separated and seen to be different from the counterfeit Babylonian Church. We owe it to the world out there. But most of all we owe it to Him.

For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the Name of YAHWEH our God for ever and ever. (Mic.4:5)

And I will strengthen them in YAHWEH, and they shall walk up and down in His Name, says YAHWEH. (Zech.10:12)
