The Bride
Encountering an extraordinary God in ordinary
life

The Bride
Weddings are a time of great rejoicing. Two
people in love have made a commitment to one
another, to become one and remain that way for the rest of their lives.
It truly is a moment worth commemorating.
Almost twenty-five years ago, I turned my head and saw the most beautiful
woman in the world, dressed in a white gown and walking towards me. My love
for her has grown deeper over that time, but I will never forget the joy
of that moment. My wife, my bride, mine for a lifetime.
In today’s throw-away world, with it’s lack of emphasis on commitment, and
it’s promotion of easy divorce, far too many marriages are entered into
lightly, or left too quickly. For many people the wonderful moment of marriage
is transitory.
There is however a marriage that will last not just a lifetime,
but will last forever. I am speaking, of course of the wedding between the
Messiah and His bride.
His bride is the church. His church is the body of believers.
His church is a pure, spotless, sin free virgin. As part of that church,
you too are truly dressed in white, a pure spotless, sin free virgin.
You might say to me, “You don’t know what I’ve done. There is no way that
can be describing me.”
You’re right, I don’t know what you’ve done. But He does and He’s forgiven
you if you have
accepted Him. Under the cloak of His
righteousness, you are pure and white.
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb
has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean,
was given her to wear."(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the
saints.)
Revelation 19:7-8 NIV
Until next time, may you come to understand who you truly are in the eyes
of God.
God bless.
Kevin
If you have never accepted Christ and long to be made pure and whole again,
email me. I’ll share a few Bible verses that will explain why a relationship
with Jesus is important and a prayer that will make it possible.
No matter what you’ve done, you can be restored through the love of God.
