Its real easy to get caught in a world of addiction and self medication. This world is a hard place to live in and for some of us out here, life can be way to painful sometimes. But if you give God the chance, He will turn your life around and you can find the hope you need to go on.

All to often we don't want to look at the real issue, we just want to cover it up with our drug of choice. Some of us have Doctors who are willing to write those prescriptions that numb the pain we are feeling. Some of us are social drinkers. Some of us are occasional users. Some of us have just plain given up and quit trying to rebuild our lives. Whatever your method of dealing with addiction and life, this article is meant in a caring way and even though it sounds a little harsh, I pray you will be impacted enough to allow God to change your world.

All to often the words or excuses that filter through the layers of pain are : you just don't understand what I have been through. Or you could never understand my life or what has really happened. Or maybe, if my life had happened to you, you would be using too.

I don't want to appear as heartless because I'm not but I do want to try and help you understand that you have the power in your heart to change your life, if you really want to.

God is a very powerful God and as in the middle of your pain and addiction, He is there. This article mainly is focused on people who are abused hurting people and their addictions, but, if you are reading this and you find something that will help you change your life, then God has led you to this site to help you.

Abuse comes in so many forms and whatever type of abuse you are living in, changes your life forever. Some of us find it much easier to throw in the towel and continue living in our situations because we feel like we deserve it. This couldn't be farther from the truth. I don't know what kind of abuse you are living in but I do want to tell you that it only has as much power as you allow it to have.

Maybe we pick up that drink or maybe we pop that pill or smoke that joint to put us in a place where nothing bothers us anymore. We just continue on getting high as a way to put off having to change our lives.

Whatever the case may be, your life and the lives of those people who love you are being ruined by your addiction. All you are really doing is teaching those people that you can cover up the problems one way or the other. I can't stress this enough, your life is making an impact on your family and friends and maybe you don't even realize it. What message or learning pattern do you want to leave behind, when you have gotten so stoned that you don't care anymore?

There are many agencies out there that are there to help you and I urge you to call your helpline to police station to find out what your options are. Yes it will be hard to get started because you are going to have to lay your story on the line and ask for help, but, if you are really interested enough in helping yourself and those who are in your life, you will be willing to reach out for the help you need to get your life back on track.

Drugs are not worth ruining your life over.. Your abuser wins everytime you get stoned. It doesn't matter how long you have been in your situation, it doesn't matter if you think you deserve the abuse or not, it only matters that you can have enough hope to rebuild your life. Those people are out there to guide you and assist you in taking control of your life.

And if you have children, I want you to take a long hard look at what your children are being taught. You can bet that your life is a story book of learning for them. They will repeat or live in just what you have taught them to live in.

I am online most of the time and can be reached in many ways and I want to let you know that I am here to talk to and assist you in whatever way I feel God leads me too. My email is awiusdi@poncacity.net or I can be reached with Yahoo or Aol or Compuserve messenger. My Yahoo ID is AwiDarnell. My Aol or Compuserve ID is AWIUSDI2000. I am rarely on ICQ but I do have an ID number and will recieve your messages when I log on. My ICQ number is 39111060.

Please I urge you to reach out to your Christian Community. They are more than willing to help you rebuild your life. But you have to take the first step. We aren't mind readers and we don't know your needs, but, if you will let us know, we will show you the power God can really have in your life.
