The Whirlwinds of Life

The last time we were together, we talked about the beauty of Spring, so this time I am going to turn the tables alittle bit and talk about the storms that pass through during this time of the year.

So many times, especially here in the Bible Belt, we wake up in the morning, planning our day, taking out a little time to do what is necessary for life to go on, we kick off our shoes when were ready to rest awhile and before we know it the wind kicks up, the dark clouds roll in, the thunder roars in the distance and we know trouble could be coming.

If you don't live in tornado alley, it really doesn't mean much because this past year, tornado's came and went in places where they hadn't had any in many years. But here in Oklahoma tornado's are a common event. We have to be careful not to get a little to comfortable with our planning because we never know if another F5 tornado could rip through our lives.

---------------------------------------------

Everyday life is sort of the same thing, especially when you read the Scripture reference for today, which is Proverbs 1 : 27- 33 Gods word says:

When your dread comes like a storm and your calamity comes on like a whilrwind, when distress and anguish comes on you, then they will call on me, but I will not answer, They will seek me diligently but they shall not find me, Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord. They would not accept my counsel, they spurned all my reproof, So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way and be satiated with their own devices, For the waywardness of the naive shall kill them and the complacency of fools shall destroy them, But he who listens to me shall live securely and shall be at ease from the dread of evil.

---------------------------------------------

People go through life thinking that everything will go perfect and then when it doesn't, they tend to throw the blame on God, when all along it was their own ignorance or their own denial of The Lord and His place in the scheme of things.

Yes, There will be storms of life. Yes, There will be lots of times when you would like to throw your hands up and scream to the heavens , Why is this happening to me... And if you live life without salvation, you are asking for trouble, you don't have the strength to rebuild after the storm, you don't have the hope to carry you through the dark clouds.

If you go on in Proverbs to read chapter 3 you will learn the blessings that happen in your life when you recieve God's messages and live life His way.

Before the storms come unexpectantly and find you unprepared, Find Jesus, He is the only way to make it through life. Life is hard and no one goes through life with ease. But alittle bit of preventative measures, insures you that you will make it from one trying time to the next.

Til Next Time.
