Awiusdi's Men's Ministry
Title: Men, Are you reaching out to those around you?
 by Awiusdi Darnell

It takes everyone working together to really make a difference in our world. I think that's where part of the problem is.

Today's Christian men have so many obstacles and worldly things that get in the way, when it comes to helping the younger generation grow into Spiritual Maturity. The majority of people live under the worlds standard for living and God expects more than that for His people.

Far to often men are not able to overcome the stereotype that non Christian men give to the guys who are sensitive and caring about one another. I want to take a look at some of the things I see going on and maybe God will speak to your heart and let you know where you need to change your own life so you can be the Christian leader God wants you to be.

Usually women get together and talk about the issues that they face in everyday life. They discuss everything under the sun and most people look at that as a person who gossips to much or that can't handle her own problems. But that isn't so, that is part of coping with life and learning new things to help you. But I don't think that is what it is all about. Men usually don't get close enough together to really open up and talk about the things that are bothering them.

There are many things that contribute to your silence and with God's help, men can overcome the obstacles that hold them back.

Are you the type of man who feels like they are in competition with the rest of the guys? Do you feel inferior to your fellow Christian men? Talking with one another shouldn't be a level of judgment. Men should be able to talk to one another about their concerns.

Are you the type that is going through life with a chip of denial on your shoulders? Are you walking tall pretending that everything is fine around you? That's not going to help much either. Men do have feelings that they need to get in touch with and then maybe you wont feel so alone while you are trying to accomplish all that God has laid out before you.

Are you the type of man who lacks in trust? It's hard to reveal the personal side of your life, if you can't feel like you can trust one another. Is this lack of trust genuine or is it a left over result of something else?

Are you the type of man who just doesn't care about your fellow man? Maybe you have the mind set that if you can learn to cope with issues then everyone else ought to be able to. So in general you have become hard and uncaring?

Are you the type of man who can't seem to find enough time to meet all the things that go on in your everyday life? We are pulled in many different directions these days, but guys we have to get in touch with our feelings and our concern for our fellow Christian men. Take out a little bit of time to reach out to those around you who can really benefit from having a godly man to turn to.

Today's world is rotating on the sensual side of life, social drinking, nude bars. The world says; men don't cry. I hope you aren't part of that world. It isn't right to be so selfish that you can't reach out to one another because you are to busy doing the things that bring you pleasure.

How many things are going on in your life that have hardened your heart? So many men today were raised without a father in the home to help them learn from. Divorce is the biggest problem that can cause you not to know how it is you are suppose to be. Poor parenting skills really take their toll on today's man. God can put the men in your life that you need, if you just ask Him to.

If you are really concerned about your fellow man, you will examine your heart and see the areas of your life that need changing, so you can be a man of leadership in your community.

Is it your lack of faith? Is it your lack of trust? Is it your reclusive attitude that keep the world at bay? Is it your church ? I urge you to take time today to really see the world around you. Is there someone in your daily life that really needs a friendly hand? Maybe God is showing you that you need to take an active part in the mens ministry in your church. If you are feeling left out, you can see where God is showing you that a need, should take place. Talk to your Pastor, maybe between the two of you, you can come up with a way for the men in your church to pull together.

Have you learned how to have a relationship with your heavenly Father? That is not easy, especially if you have had a bad relationship with your earthly Father. One thing is for sure, you get just what you give and if you have a deep need in your life, then you need to give a little more of yourself to those around you.

Have you allowed Christ to be The Lord of your life? If you have, then your cup runneth over with love and devotion to Him, and this in turn will give you the desire to reach out to those around you.

Today's Scripture Reference:
Now may our God and Father Himself and Jesus our Lord, direct our way to you and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another and for all men, just as we also do for you, So that He may establish your hearts unblamable in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints. 1 Thess 3:11-13

Therefore encourage one another, and build up one another, just as you also are doing. But we request of you brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction, and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their word. Live in peace with one another. And we urge you brethren admonish the unruly, encourage the faint hearted, help the weak and be patient with all men. 1 Thess 5:11-15
