Happy New Year 2001!

Prayer for 2001
" Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as in Heaven.
Give us today our daily Bread.
And forgive our sins,
As we forgive each one of those Who sins against us.
And lead us not to the time of trial,
But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kingdom,
The power and the glory.
Let all the people say Amen,
In every tribe and tongue.
Let every heart's desire be joined,
To see the Kingdom come.
Let every hope and every dream,
Be born in love again.
Let all the world sing with one voice,
Let the people say Amen. "

" After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."
( Matthew 6:9 - 13 )

This song; " The Millenium Prayer " was recorded by Sir Cliff Richard in 1999. I still believe it is a message for the body of Christ in 2001.

Covenant Keepers I Have Prayed For You

" And the Lord said; ' Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee: that thy faith fail not: and when thou are converted, strengthen thy brethren. ' And he said unto Him, ' Lord, I am ready to go with Thee, both into prison, and to death.' And he said, ' I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest Me. ' " ( Mark 22:31 - 24 punctuation and capitals added )

The devil came to Jesus and asked for permission to turn the heat onto Peter. Jesus allowed it, but He prepared for Peter's failure! How did He prepare for it?

1. He prayed for Peter that his faith would not fail. "But I have prayed for thee: that thy faith fail not."

2. He opened the door for Peter's restoration.
" When thou are converted, strengthen thy brethren. "

Notice Jesus used the word brethren. We see from his use of this word, that Jesus was telling Peter that when he was restored to right relationship with Him, to strengthen his brothers in the Lord. If He had simply been talking about Peter's immediate family, He would have said; " strengthen your brothers. "

Why did Jesus, knowing that Peter would deny that he knew Him out of fear, not once but three times, allow Peter to go through this?

1. He trusted Peter and knew that he loved Him enough that he would come back to him with a repentant heart.

2. He had plans for Peter that He knew he could handle.
