Title: STOP! And Spend Time With God! Part Two
by Michael Isaacks

Doers And Sitters
David said ( and did ) in Psalms 55:17 :
" Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and He
shall hear my voice. "
Even from a child, David loved God and would do nothing without checking
with Him. When he went out to face Goliath in 1 Samuel chapter 17, he turned
down the weapons King Saul offered him because he had not tested them like
he had tested his trusty slingshot. He knew God's anointing was not on the
King's armor. When he went out to the battle in the Name of the Lord,he had
success. He did something that every soldier in King Saul's army was too
afraid to do: he killed Goliath!
There is no doubt in my mind that if David did not continually spend time
with God, the result would have been different. Many people complain; "
God never speaks to me! "
I have two questions for them:
** When's the last time you spoke to Him?
and ** When's the last time you got into His Word?
Some people spend time doing things for God , but never spend time with
God. A few years ago, this was my story. To begin with, churches can sometimes
pour on the pressure to join a certain ministry of the church. But, why
are they putting on the pressure? Because nobody in the church except a
few are willing to step up and take their part in fulfillling the church
vision by helping in some of those ministries! A church in Houston which
averages a thousand members on any given Sunday recently performed the reality
drama " The Glory and the Fire . " Out of 1000+ members, only about 35 members
showed up for casting call and to take part in the drama. This resulted
in them having to cut a very important scene from the drama. There are 2
kinds of people in the church: doers and sitters!
