Title: STOP! And Spend Time With God! Part Four
by Michael Isaacks

An Equal Balance
So, what am I saying? Martha was so busy doing things for Jesus that she
couldn't spend any time with Him!
As a result, she missed out on the blessing she would have received from
Jesus' Words.
" Overdoers " , as we will call them, can only lose. They
can lose their family and they can lose theirlove for God. This works in
the natural as well, with those working all the time or doing something
else that
keeps them away from home, Here , we will deal with the Spiritual consequences
of overdoing it Spiritually.
Families of church overdoers can be offended in 3 ways:
1. Offense toward the person spending so much time away
from them and at
church.
2. Offense toward the church.
3. Offense towards God!
The person doing all this work in the church gets weary as well. They get
tired of their family's complaining about the lack of time they spend with
them. They get physically tired and worn out. They spend ( as we have previously
stated ) so much time doing things for God that they spend
very little
time with Him, and often themselves get offended toward God because of their
deteriorating family, their weariness and the lack of results and recognition.
God did not intend for a certain few people to take the full load of work
in the church. The Apostle Paul taught in 1 Corinthians chapter 12 that
every member in the body
of Christ is important and needed. ( This voids another thought I once had
which says; " They don't want anything to do with me at this church, let
alone will they let me do something! " I don't think it gets
any more clear
than James 1:22:
" But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving
your own selves. " ( Capital added )
