Title: Wife - Submit: Husband - Love Part One

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands as unto the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ
is the head of the church: and He is the Savior of the body.
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the
wives be to their own husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church,
and gave Himself for it.
That He might present it to Himself a glorious
church, not having
spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should
be holy and
without blemish.
So ought men to love their wives as their
own bodies. He that
loveth his wife loveth himself. "
( Ephesians 5:22 - 28 )
This is among the most controversial scriptures in God's Word.
It shouldn't be, after all, it's pretty clear what is being said. However,
many husbands, Christian and Non-Christian alike, think this gives them
a license to dominate and rule over their wives and that their wives are
supposed to take what their husbands dish out. WRONG!
Submission must
be in answer to love. Look at John 3:16 - 17:
" For God so loved the world, He gave His only Begotten Son, that
whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God
sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world
through Him might be saved. "
( John 3:16 - 17 )
So, what happened here?
Simple!
1.God loved.
2. Jesus submitted.
So, as it is shown here, love brings forth submission.
