8. The Establishment of a Memorial Meal.
" And Melchizadek , King of Salem , brought forth bread and wine: ( Which
was
actually unfermented grape juice ! ) and he was the priest of the Most High
God. ( Jesus ? Isaiah 9:6 ) "

While we are here, let's look at whom this Covenant was being made with:
" And he blessed him , and said ' Blessed be Abram of the Most High God.
possessor of heaven and earth:
And blessed be the Most High God , which hath delivered thine enemies
into thy hand. ' And he gave him tithes of all. "

Genesis 14:19 - 20
Old Testament things are a type and a shadow of New Testament things ,
which we discuss more in depth later in the Blood Covenant series.
The Passover meal ( Exodus 12:1 - 27 ) is a Memorial of the Covenant we
have
with God. Notice God told Moses that he shall observe this thing { The Passover
meal and the Covenant } for an ordinance to thee and thy sons for ever.

( Verse 24 )
The painted doorposts meant that house was redeemed from the curse of death.
( Verse 23 :
Now , do you understand why it is called Passover ? )
Jesus fulfilled the Old Covenant ( or Testament in the Greek ).
" [ Christ , the Messiah ] is therefore the Negotiator and Mediator of an
[ entirely ] new agreement
[ testament , covenant ], so that those who are called and offered it may
receive the fulfillment
of the promised everlasting inheritance -- since a death has taken place
which rescues and delivers
and redeems them from the transgressions committed under the [ old ] first
agreement . "
( Hebrews 9:15 Amplified Bible )

The Lord's Supper ( or The Last Supper as it is sometimes called ) is a
Memorial to what
Jesus did for us on the cross. He told us to do it ( Eat The Lord's Supper
or Communion )
" in remembrance of Me " ( Luke 22:19 )
