Title
The Awesome wonders of God-End
by David Pitman
DAY FIVE – SUMMARY & CONCLUSION
How will a proper view of God, like the one presented in Isaiah 40, change
our attitude toward Him and how we deal with Him in our life? Because of
Christ’s substitutionary death on the cross, we have full access to this
powerful creator and sustainer of the universe. Even more, He desires a
personal relationship with us above anything else! This should tremendously
humble us! But when we pray to talk with this God, it can sometimes becomes
easy to casually throw up words to Him as if He were our peer. Does Isaiah’s
perspective of God change the way we treat our times in prayer with our
Creator or will we continue to take Him for granted? Prayer is our
communication with God and “connects” us to Him. If this is taken for
granted, some deep thinking on Isaiah 40 might to be in order. AW. Tozer
in
Christ the Eternal Son said:
The gulf that separates the Creator and the creature, the gulf between the
being we call God and all other beings, is a great and vast and yawning
gulf. ... If you do not engage in deep thinking, it may not seem so amazing,
but if you have given yourself to frequent thoughtful consideration, you
are
astonished at the bridging of the great gulf between God and not God.
(Christianity Today, Vol. 36, no. 6.)
Even though so many things are taken for granted today, God should be the
first thing in our lives that is NOT! If a correct understanding of who
He
is does not bring us to a place of awe and wonder of Him, then there is
something wrong. Holding respect and reverence for God should be of utmost
importance to us in our life. What is your current view of God? How do you
treat your time in prayer? Is God someone you find yourself taking for
granted? If so, how do you propose to change your attitude toward Him?
Take time to think about these questions. In your Spiritual Journal, write
down your thoughts to the questions presented and your thoughts to this
whole Isaiah study in general. Use this time to wrap up this study and come
to the conclusions the Lord has been placing on your heart. How do you fear
the Lord differently now than before we started this study in Isaiah 40?
