David David's LifeLetters
 Title:  Because I Love You
 by David Sorensen

No man can have a greater love for someone than to lay down his own life, in order to save his friend. If you want to know if someone loves you, check out in what degree they are willing to suffer for you, in order to help you.

God became a man - Jesus Christ. Not just a man, but a man filled with the Spirit of God in a degree this world will never see again. Why? Because God wanted to show you something. What? His love!

That is the primary reason Jesus came to this earth: to show humanity that God loves us.

He showed us how great Gods love is for us, by laying down his life for us. He took our place in the deathrow. Because in the end we all have to admit that we deserve Gods anger.

No one can say that he or she is holy and perfect enough to deserve being in Gods holy presence forever. We all have sinned in a number of ways. It's part of our selfish nature. That's why we need Gods mercy.

And He is willing to wipe out all our guilt.

He is so full of love for each one of us. That's why Jesus allowed Gods wrath, pain and punishment to come upon himself. God put our sins on Jesus, so that we could be forgiven. He payed our price.

He loves us and the reason He did it, is because He wants us to be able to come into His presence again. With a clear conscience. Freed from guilt and shame. Free and totally forgiven. Cleansed and accepted as sons and daughters of the holy God, who loves us so much.

I can't imagine anything more wonderful...
