Title: Finances 18

Finances 18
Some have thought emotional control is not showing emotions
but that's not true: Jesus had complete control over His and He got angry,
He cried, He laughed. He was very emotional. But His weeping didn't move
Him over into the funeral crowd: He still moved in the spirit and put His
priorities where they belonged and raised the man from the dead. Then they
had a party over it. Wouldn't you have liked to have been to that party?
Oh, they got so thrilled, some woman even poured perfume all over Jesus'
feet.
The Scripture says, "Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who
weep" (Rom 12:15). You have to ask yourself why someone is crying or laughing.
Jesus always deals with the root cause of things, never the outward appearance.
Some people cry when they're very angry, others from self-pity. These are
not Godly reasons for weeping. Don't join yourself in weeping for these
folks. We can discern good and evil motives in people (Heb 5:14). Some people
laugh because their lusts have been fulfilled, others because they won the
lottery. Again, don't join in laughter for these kinds of motives. Don't
be moved by what you see, be moved only by what you believe.
3 Jn 2 basically says, you'll never prosper, or be any healthier, than your
soul. You can be born again and filled with the spirit, and not be prosperous
in your soul. You can pray down revival for a whole city, and be poor as
a church mouse, or be deathly ill. Why? because you have not received a
revelation of God's Word in that area of your life. Does God still love
you and are you still going to heaven? Yes. We want the fullness of Christ
revealed to us so we can be more effective. We can't be out doing the will
of the Father flat on our backs sick in bed, or in financial bondage. I
met a Baptist woman in a old folks home who would witnessed to anything
moving, but she refused to hear about healing. Her soul was not prosperous
in that area. What makes a prosperous soul? the Word of God.
"In your
patience you possess your souls" (Lk 21:19). Patience doesn't mean sit there
and take it. Patience means consistently doing the same thing all the time,
regardless of the circumstances. He reacts the same way all the time. It
means endurance. A man that's patient on the Word of God says, "I'm healed
by the Word of God and I don't care what symptoms I have". Through faith
and patience we inherit the promises (Heb 6:12). Faith alone isn't enough.
The force of patience carries our faith through time until the manifestation
comes. When you get that way you possess your mind, which is part of your
soul. It becomes a knee jerk reaction: a circumstance comes up, the Word
concerning that situation comes up from your Spirit, you load into your
mouth, and fire those words out.
