Finances 22

Whatever problem you may have, the Word has the answer. That's why the Word is the answer to prosperity. Jesus is anything but a poor man: "... according to His riches in glory" (Phil 4:19) will he supply all our needs. Doesn't sound like He is poor. Prosperity is not according to the Dow-Jones Industrial average, or Boeing, or the gross national product. God created the universe. God's prosperity is not dependent on these factors. It's true that prosperity may be different in different situations. For instance, a cow in certain parts of the world is a manifestation of prosperity. In our country, during this time, it may be a Cadillac. Should the economy fall in this country, prosperity may be having food and shelter.

How can God be followed by a bunch of poor-mouth folk without proper clothes and medical care? This doesn't say much for the Man we are following, unless He's poor and beat up too. Earth is a copy of heaven. I believe heaven is a planet because it describes it in terms of north, south, east, west. These compass directions have not meaning outside a sphere. Isa. 14:13 says, "For you have said in your heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north". If He created us after His image, it could be said He created earth after the image of heaven. The descriptions of heaven are opulent. We worship the God of this heaven. If His desire for heaven is the be arrayed in gold and precious gems, and He said we should pray the will of heaven down to earth, then it must be His will for us to have good things while here on earth (). But our motives must be right: to give to the poor, and to establish His covenant.

What would it be like to be God on earth? We use about 12-15% of our brain capacity. We use about 14% of the earth's surface. What if you we had the mental capacity to use 100% of our mental, physical, and social capacities? The Holy Spirit, our Teacher, can bridge this gap. These things are available because we have the mind of Christ. We can use 100% of everything. Maybe we wouldn't have a drug problem, or fuel shortage with 100% mental capacity. "So why don't you do it, Dennis? You're a scientist." I believe in these things mentally but right now my faith isn't up to that level. You got to start somewhere though by first talking about it and rehearsing it mentally.

We have a contract with God. Its called a covenant. God initiated it, we accepted it. We can make demands on it: Isa. 45:11 "Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of My hands command Me". This is not presumption because the contract and its bylaws were written by God Himself. If he didn't want it this way then He shouldn't have initiated it and had it written down. But since He did, He must want it this way. The way God operates is the way He wants us to operate (2Pet 1:4).
