 Title:  Finances 26
 by Dennis Reschke

Finances 26

Failure is the vilest word in the English language. Any one afraid of failure has no business being a Christian, not in the light of the Word of God. "Have you had any failures Dennis?" No, but I have had a number of opportunities. I just never received them. I learn from my mistakes. I choose not to wallow in self-pity. I ask God how I missed, get the answer, and go on to victory. The Scripture says we always triumph and have victory (2Cor 2:14, 1Cor 15:57); He picks us up when we fall (Ps 37:24, Pr 24:16). These Scriptures are contingent upon us being IN Christ. All the promises of God are conditional: we do our part, God will do His. I don't play nine inning games; I play to win. We control the game. Satan's got to keep pitching till we hit it out of the ball park. We control the score. This isn't democratic or fair. Satan doesn't have a right to vote any how. He's a looser. He doesn't play fair, why should we. Stack the ballot box. What chance does he have against God? None. Then that's how much chance he has against you because you are in Christ: God is your you. "Not me but Christ in me". That failure-filled, sin-filled nothing of a person died, in July of 1967 at summer camp. I am a new creature with a new feature. There was born on the inside of me that day the image of God Who can do anything; to take dominion over the earth under the banner of love, to rule and reign with great grace and the gift of righteousness (Rom 5:17). As we meditate on Scripture, His words get on the inside of us. As the Holy Spirit get them to work on the inside of us, our words reflect the supernatural change and they come to pass; not because we're anything special, but because the words are not God's Words and He "watches to see that His word is fulfilled" (Jer 1:12). We become, in a sense, prophetic.

Deut 8:18 is God's way of taking back the earth for Himself. People say God doesn't want us to be wealthy, He wants us to be humble. What does humble mean? It means doing everything God said for you to do without your flesh involved. It means being obedient. "Well, I don't think it is a good testimony for a preacher to drive a Lexus". Well what kind of a testimony is it for him to drive a beat up pick up truck? Who says we have to keep all our wealth any how? Give it away to publish the gospel. Some of us are scared to prosper. Fear is not of God, it's of the devil. There is no fear in love (1John 4:18). If you want a Caddy to look good, forget it; your motives are wrong. When we get to the point where we don't care either way, we just want to please your Father and be a part of the answer, then God can bless us exceedingly above. As long as we're fretting over not having enough, we're operating in fear.
