Title: Awesome Task
by Diane Sample

|
They used to teach the Golden Rule
In school in days gone by,
But things have changed and focus dimmed;
At times we wonder why.
A teacher must not speak of God
Or read the Bible; pray.
Things so common done before
Are done another way.
So Christian schools rose up to say
"We'll raise a Standard high!
We'll take a stand, we'll count the cost;
Reclaim the Gospel's cry"
"We'll teach your children what they need
Like reading , writing , math;
Carefully clothed in Godliness,
We'll meet the Awesome Task."
"We'll take your children by the hand
Until our journey's done.
We'll pray and read God's word with them
Until they've overcome."
"With hearts to love a precious child
And wisdom from above,
We'll share the greatest gift of all-
The gift of Jesus' love."
"So pray for us, you righteous folks
That as God's Spirit flows
You'll have a part in this great work;
This harvesting of souls."
"God has made our spirits breathe;
Our hearts on one accord.
A triple braid can no man break
When fashioned by the Lord.
As part of the Christian school movement, I am quite cognizant of the importance
of strengthening Christian values through Christian education. As schools
prepare to receive the students for the new year, will you please join forces
in prayer that God will increase our harvest and that the students will
have ears to hear. I teach a full load along with principal duties and would
surely appreciate an undergirding of prayer and a saturation of anointing
.( My entries may be fewer as school begins so bear with me a bit.) God
is truly in control.
