Title: Hungry People
by Diane Sample

|
Feed us please, o man of God,
The church cries out today.
We long to feast on the word of God
And walk the narrow way.
Today is the day we've set aside
From our busy, daily routine.
Too many things keep us tied up, it's true
To bring the Lord on the scene.
What time we're not workin'to earn daily bread
We're relaxin' or watchin' TV.
We just don't have time to read or to pray,
So here we are- please meet our need.
The Pastors who love God with all of their hearts
Shake their heads sadly and say,
You're hungry, o church, but you'll never be full
If you feed on His Word just one day.
He gave you all week to learn of His grace;
To learn more of walking His way
But you're fat and too full of worldly things
You're much too busy to pray.
You come here to ask that your spirit be fed;
A nickel's worth's all that you need
Enough to get by til next time you are here
Sufficient to help you succeed
You'll not succeed as long as you don't
Learn to search through His word
for yourself
Learn what He says, for He's true to His word;
And He always is present to help.
Too often we depend on others to tell us what God has to say in a sermon
once a week. We need to learn how to dig into the Sriptures and see for
ourselves what He says to us. Everyday to meditate on the Word day and night
and let it not depart from our mouths so we shall have success.(see Joshua
1:9) others inspirational books etc. are only to stir up the gifts that
are in us that we search the Scriptures daily for that personal (rhema)
word from God. Amen Love diane
