Title: Obey
by Diane Sample

|
O nly through obedience
Can we begin to know
The meaning of true sacrifice
As in His grace we grow.
B elieving God has made a way
For us to spread the word,
And He has given all we need
For those who've never heard
E nduring to the finish line
A runner often wearies,
But if we press on to the mark
We'll see His will more clearly.
Y eildness to what He asks
In recognizing sin.
Dying to our selfishness
Through cleansing from within.
Obedience is like the banks of a river, the cover of a book or the lines
on the highway. All of them keep order and give delineation according to
the proper conduct for their safety. The pages of a book woulfly away with
no order if not held in line by the cover. The cars would each go their
own way and have no assurance of making it to their destinations if not
for the rules of the road and the lines which keep them on their side of
the road. The river would not be a river were the water not held in check
by the banks. So God's word gives specific guidelines for us to obey to
keep us in check so we can be all that he desires for us to be. "Be not
conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your minds
that ye may prove what is the good perfect will of God." Romans 12:2
Transformations
begins with OBEDIENCE.
Lord, help me bend my will to yours.
Amen. Romans 12:1-2 Love Diane
