Title: Raising the Standard (Part Two)

Standard Bearers part 2
What a great reminder it is to the people of God to know that the Lord God
, the King of Kings will raise a Banner, a flag, and a Standard against our
enemies that will cause them to flee away for He is our deliverer who has
conquered all our enemies. As a shield , he stands in front of us, for he
is our shield and our strength...
He says to our enemies, "this is My child. You will come no farther or you
will deal with Me."
We remember that when a country defeated another, a ship of one country
was claimed by another, that possessing country would post its colors; its
flag.
So we have a standard that is raised against our enemies because the king
of kings has claimed us for His own. We have been set free.
Because of
this we hold high the standard of faith for others to see, whether in the
spiritual realm through prayer,or in the natural through works or words
of faith.
Picture this: Opposing armies face each other; each waiting for the other
to make the first move. Out of the group comes the Standard bearer; the
one who carries the flag. Sitting tall on the faithful steed, he raises
for all the weary, fearful and wounded in his army to see a reminder of
Those who have gone before them who shed their blood and gave their lives
for their freedom; of those who are counting on them to win the cause of
their battle and of those for whom they fight Suddenly those who are wounded,
weary and fearful are filled with renewed strength to carry on the battle.
We are the standard bearers, the encouragers. If in the battle, the standard
bearer should fall, the standard would not be allowed to fall. Another soldier
would drop his weapon and raise the standard so that the army could see
the cause was not lost.
Francis Scott Key while aboard ship after being captured
by the British,
wrote the words to the Star Spangled Banner.
The battle raged on all through the night on shore between the Americans
and British. Peering though the thick smoke of battle and "the rocket's
red glare", he searched for a sign that the battle had not been lost. There
amid the billows of firearms was the symbol of freedom. Tattered and torn,
battle scarred still flying valiantly was the flag, the standard, the banner
of freedom.
We are surroundedby wounded warriors, hungry, hurting and discouraged,.
We are the standard bearers. Those who will pierce the darkness of their
souls with the mighty Word of God. We must lift up the Name of Jesus that
all may see the cause for which we fight is not, cannot and will not be lost
as long as we,the Righteousness of God will raise the Standard.
Raise
the standard high beloved.
2 Cor. 2:14 Love Diane
