Title: Tearing Down Old Things
by Diane Sample

|
Lord, the banner of my flesh
Has flown above my heart,
Yeilding to my selfishness;
Piercing with a dart.
A fiery dart of satan
Sent to steal;destroy
Causing everyone such grief
And stealing blessed joy.
Blaming all my problems
On everybody else.
Blinded from the truth of God;
Listening to my self.
Lord, deliver once for all
My ugly heart of pride,
Help me to be wholly clean
And make me new inside.
Take away the memory
Of all that's held me fast.
Free me from my willfulness
And all my awful past.
Sins that do beset me
Will raise their woeful voice
Until I look to Jesus
Making His desire my choice.
Laying aside every weight and sin that so easily besets me I look to Jesus,
the author and finisher of my faith. All I am and all I ever hope to be
is His to do with as He sees fit. Help me Lord ,to forget what lies behind
and press on to the mark of that to which You have called me. Amen. I love
you , Diane
