He is -- He really is

The best vitamin for a Christian is B1.

Not one of us ever gets through life without some discouragement. It’s as normal as a Spring shower. It happens. Maybe you are in that mode right now. You are proving Murphy’s Law that says, “Anything that can’t go wrong -- will!” Friend, you have lots of company.

Here in Florida, kids are already going back to school. That means buying school supplies, clothing, etc., with its attendant hair pulling times.

I stood in the school supply aisle at Walmart yesterday and watched hectic patents going through the ordeal. I said to one frustrated father, “What happened to the days when we just had one tablet and a pencil?”

Yes, life is loaded with discouragements. So what we do -- give up? No, not as long as we have two brain cells to rub together. We do not give up. We may have to step back, take a deep breath and dig our heels in for a new start, but we do not give up.

These words from Joshua 1:9 (nlt) were written for another time and place, but you can claim them for your own from a never changing God: “I command you -- be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” He is -- He really is. Count on it.
