Title: It's all about God (guest writer)
 by David George

It's all about God (guest writer)

Before his death, my husband came home one day laughing about a bumper sticker he had just seen. It read, "IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU ISN'T IT." We jokingly used that phrase on each other many times. Well at least we pretended we were joking. Ha, ha! Sitting at a stop light staring at that statement should be convicting, but immediately I think of someone else to paste it on. I even name names. Shame.

Recently I have heard many pastor's sermons with the revised edition: "It's all about God, not you! " The first book in the Bible should set us straight in a hurry. "In the beginning God created, God said, God saw, God made, God planted, God breathed ( the breath of life), God commanded, God blessed, God gave”... and we didn't even help!

In Genesis chapter 3, Eve used destructive judgment listening to someone aside from the words of God. God's word gave definable instructions in Gen 3:3 "you must not!" To go against God's plan messes up not only your life, but those around you.

John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man (or woman) remains in me and I in him, he shall bear much fruit: apart from me you can do nothing." I have come to the conclusion that, "without God I am nothing" I know that destroys all the modern consensus of building self image, but my deepest satisfaction and worth have come from knowing the fact..."It's all about God!" "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me " Philippians 4:13 (kjv).

When I am tempted to be centered on self, I try to practice what I know to be true...”It's all about God!”
