Title: Make the Application

Make the Application

Has the work of Satan ever seen the kind of competition that exists today?

One word that we hear constantly in the TV coverage of the New York disaster is the word “triage.” Military medical people are very familiar with the term. The dictionary says this: “the sorting of and allocation of treatment to patients according to a system of priorities designed to maximize the number of survivors.” I gather that those who are considered unlikely to survive are not given top priority. Since our churches are hospitals for saints, is a negative form of the triage system being used in our church methods? Do the most outspoken get the most attention while those more meek get overlooked? Do our leaders tend to give their time and attention to a chosen few while the rest turn into the frozen few out of neglect.

That may be a human reaction, but when it comes to the concept of “others,” Christians should be super-human. We should not be content to let anyone fall by the wayside. Everyone should have an equal opportunity to be nurtured in their faith.

1 John 4:20 (nlt) says, “If someone says, ‘I love God,’ but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we have not seen?” You are intelligent -- you make the application.
