Title: Be Careful
 by David George

I’ve learned that just one person saying, “You made my day,” makes my day.

Fess up, how many of you actually tried to look up Hezekiah 12:7 in yesterday’s E-Cheer?

Betty is an inveterate hobbyist. Now she is into sewing quilted wall hangings. I am amazed at how she will take hundreds of pieces of cloth and wind up with a beautiful geometric design. She can go from scraps to scapes in a short time and literally be in stitches.

Our lives are like a patchwork quilt. You are a complex collection of all types of factors that went into the making of “you.” It is when we put the patchwork of our lives into the hands of the master seamster that we turn into a beautiful quilted person -- unique and on display. It is because we as Christians are constantly on view before the world that we need to make sure that our seams are straight and that we don’t have any loose threads hanging out. We are the Bible the world reads.

Since we are on display, it is important that our billboard shows a true and likeable representation of Jesus Christ. It is a terrible thing when a Christian misrepresents Christ and thereby becomes a stumblingblock to someone else. Claiming to be a Christian puts us under the gun of responsibility. 1 Cor. 8:9 (nlt), “But you must be careful with this freedom of yours. Do not cause a brother or sister with a weaker conscience to stumble.” ‘Nuff said.
