Devotionalby David George How long a minute is depends on which side of the bathroom door you are. If you are a user of the Internet, you know that sometimes you have to click on the Refresh button to get the latest version of the site you are visiting. Sometimes I view the newly uploaded E-Cheer and discover a mistake. I have to go back into Adobe PageMill, correct it and then upload it again. In order to see the change I have to hit Refresh. Think of your Bible as your personal Refresh button. When we commit sin, we need to go back to the Word and upload some new forgiveness and encouragement. Just this morning I was reading in Psalm 104 about all of the majestic works of God in nature. We take His world for granted and forget to be grateful. It was like hitting the Refresh button for me -- it renewed my sense of awe. Read the entire chapter sometime. Near the end of the chapter the psalmist says (vs. 31), “May the glory of the Lord last forever! The Lord rejoices in all He has made!” So do I. Aren’t you glad you can wake up every morning and absolutely depend on the sun being there, cloudy or not. God is faithful!
PARTNER PROFILE In 1997 I had a stroke that crippled my left side. Upon release from therapy I started a ministry of daily e-mail devotions called E-Cheer to encourage others. I am a layman, having spent my career as service manager for the Allen Organ Co. |
