DevotionalTitle: Difficult Times by David George Difficult TimesOne reader who replied had a daughter injured but OK at the Pentagon.Another reader had a friend visiting the Twin Towers and has not heard from them. One reader wrote a poem about terrorists -- available on request. Another reader is a deputy Sherriff in Oklahoma who consistently reads Psa. 140 before going on calls. I recommend it in this situation because it may help you deal with your anger. Vs. 1 says, “O Lord, rescue me from evil people. Preserve me from those who are violent.” Thank you for all those who have expressed their views. Some of you took opportunity to vent your anger at the perpetrators, and from a psychological standpoint, expressing your anger is probably a good thing -- now turn it over to God. We are all dealing with a lot of emotions in this situation. Depend on your strong faith to deal with these feelings. Pray for our President and Congress as they make crucial decisions. These are difficult times, but we will survive and emerge stronger.
In 1997 I had a stroke that crippled my left side. Upon release from therapy I started a ministry of daily e-mail devotions called E-Cheer to encourage others. I am a layman, having spent my career as service manager for the Allen Organ Co. |
