 Devotional   Title: Do or Don't by David George  Do or Don'tIf you are standing exactly on the North Pole, is there an East and West from that point? Tell me.Those of you who have been reading my daily musings for some time know that I frequently talk about positives and negatives. I try to be a positive thinker, not a negative stinker. There are two words that we often use that fall right into the positive/ negative mode -- encourage and discourage. Encourage is the positive verb. It means to inspire with courage, spirit or hope -- to hearten. It is a word that should be part of every Christian’s daily walk and talk. God left us here to do His work of encouraging others. I love Rom. 1:12 (nlt): “I’m eager to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. In this way, each of us will be a blessing to each other.” I hope you are encouraged by E-Cheer. I am encouraged when you write back -- it is like saying Amen to a preacher. Amen may mean “so be it,” but to a preacher or writer like me, the 21st Century vernacular is “sic ‘em.” The word discourage is so negative that I don’t even want to talk about it except to say, “don’t.” Give a boost to everyone you meet today -- encourage them!
