DevotionalTitle: Enjoy the Ride by David George Enjoy the RideA new teacher was trying to make use of her psychology courses. She started her class by saying, “Everyone who thinks you are stupid, please stand up.” After a few seconds, little Johnny stood up. The teacher said, “Do you think you’re stupid, Johnny?” “No Ma’am, but I hate to see you standing there all by yourself.” Do you ever feel like you are standing alone.Want to start your week right? Read Psalm 143:10 (niv), “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God, may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” In the days ahead there may be hills, bumps and potholes out there to impede our path, but just the thought of being able to ask God to lead us on level ground gives me courage for whatever lies ahead -- how about you? You’ve heard that today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday. Was it worth the worry? Maybe you’re anxious about what tomorrow will bring. Then, consider Phil 4:6 (niv), “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” That is your roadmap for the week. There is your pattern for a smoother road. Enjoy the ride!
In 1997 I had a stroke that crippled my left side. Upon release from therapy I started a ministry of daily e-mail devotions called E-Cheer to encourage others. I am a layman, having spent my career as service manager for the Allen Organ Co. |
