DevotionalTitle: Excuses, excuses by David George Excuses, excusesExcuses, excuses, always excuses -- have you ever had to say that to someone? Here is an excuse sent by a mom to her daughter’s teacher:“Please excuse Brenda for being absent. She was sick and I had her shot.” Poor choice of words, don’t you think? Sometimes we may be guilty of giving God some rather lame excuses for all sorts of things, like missing church, lack of communication with Him, etc. Maybe you even have an excuse for not trusting Him with your life. The longer we make excuses, the harder it is to finally take some action. Procrastination can be devastating. Romans 1:20 says, “Ever since God created the world, His invisible qualities, both His eternal power and His divine nature, have been clearly seen; they are perceived in the things that God has made. So those people have no excuse at all!” You see, there is no valid excuse that will hold up in God’s Court. If you haven’t already, right now would be the perfect time to put your faith in Jesus Christ. It will change your life completely -- for the better!
In 1997 I had a stroke that crippled my left side. Upon release from therapy I started a ministry of daily e-mail devotions called E-Cheer to encourage others. I am a layman, having spent my career as service manager for the Allen Organ Co. |
