Devotionalby David George Have you noticed that teen-agers are people who express a burning desire to be different by dressing exactly alike. Are you afraid to be different, to be the one in the crowd who says “no” when everyone else is saying “go for the gusto?” Sometimes taking a stand for our Lord can be a little lonely, but be assured you are not alone. The book of Lamentations is not exactly required reading for Basic Christianity 101, but there are some wonderful verses between its covers, like 3:22 & 23 (niv), “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” My, wouldn’t that be a great thought for writing a hymn? You could name it “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.” So, dare to take a stand -- you are not alone. A little later in vs. 25, the writer says, “The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him.” He won’t let you down -- you can put your complete hope and trust in him today. His faithfulness is great and you will not be consumed. Take your stand with him today.
