Title: Hurry
 by David George

Excerpt from a letter: "Dear Son, when you get home, we won't be at the same place. Your Dad heard that most accidents happen within 5 miles of home, so we moved."

For the first time since e-Cheer started almost four years ago, the subscriber list is going in reverse. Although there are approximately 25 new subscribers per week, there are slightly more than that each week who change addresses and don't let me know. Lots of people are "on the move," not necessarily home-wise but e-mail server-wise. As you know, I've had to change addresses, too. It's a wide spread problem, but finding the perfect server is as futile as finding the perfect church.

Christians move, also. They get miffed because they didn't paint the church the right color, etc., and off they go looking for a new church. Do you remember when one of your parents sat you down firmly and said, "Now stay put!" I'm sure pastors would love to do that with some of their members. I've even heard people like that called "church tramps." That's a bit harsh, but in some cases it may apply. Someone famous (can't remember who) said, "Consistency -- thou art a jewel." Amen!

One of theses days we'll make the final move, and we'll no longer be looking for new e-mail servers. It will be our final address change, but the address needs to be decided upon now, not later, because later may be too late.

1 Peter 3:18 says (nlt), "Christ also suffered when He died for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but He died for sinners that He might bring us safely HOME to God." That's the home I'm talking about. So, is your application in and approved? If not -- hurry!

In 1997 I had a stroke that crippled my left side. Upon release from therapy I started a ministry of daily e-mail devotions called E-Cheer to encourage others. I am a layman, having spent my career as service manager for the Allen Organ Co.
