Title: Pablum or Meat
 by David George

Remember the banana -- when it left the bunch it got skinned. You need to stay with your church fellowship.

This verse in Hebrews 5:1 (nlt) is very interesting. Pastors, please take note: “So let us stop going over the basics of Christianity again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start all over again with the importance of turning away from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.” Amen!

I know that pastors need to include some evangelism, but there is a whole congregation of believers out there with their mouths wide open waiting to be fed. Instead of constantly preaching believe, believe, believe, we need to preach grow, grow, grow. Once the baby is born, you don’t keep giving it Pablum until it is a teen-ager.

I’m so grateful for our pastor. He gives us real Biblical meat on which to chew, but at the very end he gives a brief but succinct call to repentance to non-believers. I appreciate the judicious use of balance in his ministry. I hope you are as fortunate.
