Title: Patience, Lord, teach me patience

For a hobby I run Quarter Horses -- I stick quarters in the horses for the kids at Walmart.

Perhaps you can learn from my experience. I’ve told you about my extremely slow Internet and E-mail. I had my computer stripped and reloaded. That greatly helped my non-modem operation, but anything coming through the modem was still horrendously slow. I wrote to Earthlink for help. They responded with two pages of things to try, none of which helped. I so notified them. Then they sent me three access numbers to try that were different from the choices you get originally. One of those numbers worked like a champ -- problem solved. If you have the same problem, bug your ISP for additional numbers that they are hiding in their back pocket. By the way, you can send me small attachments again -- small, keep your pictures to 350 pixels or less. Thanks.

Sometimes we get frustrated with God because we think He is taking forever to answer our prayers. It seems like His downloading time is endless. Yesterday at church, a friend sang, “In His Time” -- a beautiful and thought provoking song. We tend to forget that God’s clock may not run on the same schedule as ours. One of our hymns has this great line: “Teach me the patience of unanswered prayer.” Oh yes, Lord, teach me, and do it right now!

This verse seems appropriate: Psalm 69:13 (nlt), “But I keep right on praying to you, Lord, hoping this is the time you will show me favor. In your unfailing love, O God, answer my prayer with your sure salvation.” Patience, Lord, patience.
