Devotionalby David George I’ve mentioned before that I’m PA Dutch. When we have a question about something, we say, “It wonders me.” Like -- how much faith does it take to be an Atheist? Can an atheist get insurance to cover “acts of God?” It wonders me! How can you view the awesome splendor of nature or the intense complexity of the human body and not acknowledge that there had to be a master designer? It wonders me! Rom. 1:20 (niv) speaks to this: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities -- His eternal power and divine nature -- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” As I look back over these four years since my stroke, I don’t know how I could possibly have coped if I had been an atheist. It wonders me! Psalm 14:1, “The fool says in his heart, ‘there is no God.’” What a privilege to be a child of the God who flung the stars into space. I’m not cocky about that -- just plain grateful. How about you? Enjoy your day.
PARTNER PROFILE In 1997 I had a stroke that crippled my left side. Upon release from therapy I started a ministry of daily e-mail devotions called E-Cheer to encourage others. I am a layman, having spent my career as service manager for the Allen Organ Co. |
