Devotionalby David George It may be a sign that you’re not reading your Bible enough if you open it to the Gospel of Luke and a World War 2 war bond falls out. Every now and then I have a computer problem that I can't seem to solve or that "illegal" thing comes up from Windows. Invariably, the problem is resolved by shutting down and rebooting. Do you ever wish that you could shut down and reboot a day, a week or even your whole life? At times it would be nice if we could just start over, wouldn’t it? For the Christian, rebooting comes when we obey 1 Jn. 1:9 (nlt), “but if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.” Remember, that was written to Christians. That’s rebooting. For those of you who are still not believers, I recommend 2 Cor. 5:17, “...those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun!” That is how you completely reboot your life! Wouldn’t today be a good time to reboot? You can start again.
PARTNER PROFILE In 1997 I had a stroke that crippled my left side. Upon release from therapy I started a ministry of daily e-mail devotions called E-Cheer to encourage others. I am a layman, having spent my career as service manager for the Allen Organ Co. |
