Too good to refuse

Today is E-Cheer’s fourth anniversary. God is good!

I have often thought of how wonderful it would have been to be one of the 12, but I had second thoughts (kidding, of course) when I read this part of John 21:12-13: “Jesus said to them, ‘come and have breakfast ...Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish’.” Fish for breakfast? Ugh -- I don’t even like it for dinner. (sorry, fishermen).

Kidding aside, think of what experiences the disciples enjoyed by fellowshipping with the actual Messiah day by day. Wouldn’t you expect that they sat there absolutely bug-eyed as He turned the water into wine and as He performed all of the other miracles they were privileged to witness?

I was raised in the Church of the Brethren where we followed Christ’s example of washing one another’s feet. It was a humbling experience, as it was meant to be. But can you imagine being a disciple and having the very Son of God wash your feet? That would be a life changing encounter.

I hope you have had a life changing encounter with Jesus Christ. In John 10:10, Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” How can anyone possibly refuse an offer like that? I hope you have a great day.
