I’ve been told of a bee keeper who tried to cross bees with fireflies so they could gather honey at night.

Someone is always trying to come up with a better way to do almost anything. That’s the American way -- ingenuity. That’s what brought us electric lights and a whole host of inventions to ease our way, including the miracle of e-mail.

Maybe you are looking for a better way today -- maybe even a career change or other major decision. Before you make any decisions, have a good talk with the Lord about it. The writer of 2 Samuel 22:31 & 32 (niv) said it well -- “As for God, His way is perfect, the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.”

There you have it. Want to make the right decision? Keep in mind that God’s will for you usually takes the path of common sense. I said “usually,” because sometimes God takes the common and makes something uncommonly good out of it, but chances are He will use your natural and/or trained skills to His advantage and your good. Just be sure to include Him in your plans.
