Devotionalby David George Gertrude was a nice lady, but she refused to get near a computer because it had a mouse. Couldn’t they have called it something nicer -- like a rover? There are certain segments of Christians who feel that computers are a tool of the devil and a sure sign of end times. Let me remind you that the same can be said of most any advance in technology if you have the kind of mindset that is always looking for something spiritually sinister behind every electric pole. The same car that you use to drive to church can also be used as a getaway car for a bank robbery. It isn’t the device, but rather the use of the device that can make it good or evil. God gave Adam and Eve the ability to choose between good and evil. You and I have exactly that same choice. Eve had an apple, and she could choose to bite or not. Some of you may have an Apple and you can choose to byte or not. You control the choice. One of the big advantages of being a Christian is that we can look to God’s guidance for help in making our decisions. In Psalm 25:12 (nlt) we read, “Who are those who fear the Lord. He will show them the path they should choose.” He will guide you today -- if you let Him. Will you?
In 1997 I had a stroke that crippled my left side. Upon release from therapy I started a ministry of daily e-mail devotions called E-Cheer to encourage others. I am a layman, having spent my career as service manager for the Allen Organ Co. |
