Devotionalby David George Before marriage a man yearns for the woman he loves. After marriage, sometimes the “y” becomes silent. It’s just a joke, girls, no letters, please. For some of you, life may have turned a bit sour. Maybe you are down in the dumps about it. Of course, in some cases it may be severe, and you can’t do much about it. In most cases it is temporary, but you may still have a pooch lip about it. Life is not a spectator sport, so don’t just sit there and mope about it. Get going and do something about it. Problems are solved by action. Fortunately, a Christian has some important help available, but we can’t just sit back and wait for Edison’s light bulb to go on in our brain. We need to get busy and generate the electricity for it. Edison had many failures, but it didn’t stop him. Remember, every rock in our path can be made into a stepping stone to something better. It was a stroke that created E-Cheer. We can learn some important lessons about this from Paul’s letter to the Phillipians, chapter 4 vss. 11 & 13 (nlt), “...I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances...I can do everything through Him who gives me strength” -- so can you! Work on it.
PARTNER PROFILE In 1997 I had a stroke that crippled my left side. Upon release from therapy I started a ministry of daily e-mail devotions called E-Cheer to encourage others. I am a layman, having spent my career as service manager for the Allen Organ Co. |
