Renee's Anxiety Haven
Title: Outside your comfort zone
by Rene'e Furrer
Do you have a comfort zone? I sure do, and it is
tough sometimes when I am out of that zone. I tend to like things a certain
way and when they get a bit scrambled, so can my nerves!
My husband and I have three children. The two oldest Doctor quite a bit
what with Orthodontists visits, regular Dr. visits and our sons Therapy
visits for ADHD and ODD. I am running a lot and when the kids have a particularly
bad day and are fussing and arguing with each other, I sometimes feel like
I am going to blow my top and I start to feel my blood pressure go up and
the nerves start in. When this happens I am very much out of my Comfort
Zone. You can think of things that take you out of yours, I am sure *smile*
When we do experience things that remove us from our Comfort Zones, it can
be quite stressful. I take deep, slow breaths and pray. I also at times
recite one of my favorite verses of scripture which is Isaiah 41:10. You
know, sometimes it may seem like the Lord is very far away, but all we need
to remember is to stop, take that deep breath and instead of getting all
stressed out, just pray. He is always there waiting for us. It delights
Him when we talk with Him. He will never give us more than we can handle.
Oh, it may seem like it at first, but if we just trust in the Lord to see
us through, He will. So, the next time you are feeling out of your zone
and are ready to blow your top, stop, pray and listen. He is waiting for
you......
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with
thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God,
which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:6-7 KJV
May the Lord bless you and keep you in His loving care.
In Christ,
Reneé Furrer
