Title: HOW CAN ANXIETY BRING YOU CLOSER TO GOD?

The 23rd Psalm
The Lord is my Shepherd------------
THAT'S RELATIONSHIP!
I shall not want--------------------
THAT'S SUPPLY!
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures------
THAT'S REST!
He leadeth me beside still waters-----
THAT'S REFRESHMENT!
He restoreth my soul-------------------------
THAT'S HEALING!
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness-----
THAT'S GUIDANCE!
For His name sake---------------------------
THAT'S PURPOSE!
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death---------
THAT'S TESTING!
I will fear no evil-----
THAT'S PROTECTION!
For thou art with me--------------------
THAT'S FAITHFULNESS!
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me-------
THAT'S DISCIPLINE!
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies----
THAT'S HOPE!
Thou anointest my head with oil---------
THAT'S CONSECRATION!
My cup runneth over-----------------------
THAT'S ABUNDANCE!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life-------
THAT'S BLESSING!
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord---------
THAT'S SECURITY!
Forever-----------------------------------------
THAT'S ETERNITY!
Can I hear an AMEN? I thought so! *smile* You know, I have had my Anxiety
Disorder for years now and in many ways, it has been a blessing to me! Yes,
that's right, a blessing. How is this, you might ask? Well, I will tell
you right now.
Having this disorder has at times been very dibilitating to me. Although
I do take medication for my Anxiety, I have had to learn to lean on the
Lord even more. Having Anxiety has brought me closer to the Lord in that
I have had to rely totaly on Him to see me through many a dark time in my
life. Anxiety or Panic attacks are very frightning and I recall one morning
I awoke in a big jumble of nerves and Panice and all I could do was cry
out to the Lord, "Father, take this burden from me" I then called my husband
and he came home and took me to the Dr. I know that not all people who have
anxiety use medications and that is fine, but I knew that morning that the
Lord was telling me to take care of myself.
That was 4 years ago and
I feel so blessed to have experienced this disorder because I have received
many emails from fellow sufferers who just need validation and someone to
talk to. I have started a Yahoo Club for Christian Ladies who have anxiety
and panic and it is a wonderful support group! The Lord can use our burdens
and disabilities to reach out and help others. \O/ the Lord!
So, I hope
that those who read this who may be in a tough spot will just let the Lord
handle it and ask Him to use you to help others. He will do that!
Father
God, I thank you for making me the way that I am and for sending such wonderful
people in my path. People who just need a friend to talk to, a shoulder
to lean on, and to know Lord, that you will take their burdens away and
use them to reach out to others. Father I ask that you will continue to
use me and those who visit here to spread your word to friends and anyone
who comes across their paths. For this I ask in Jesus name, Amen.
