Every Thanksgiving the wife would cut the turkey in half and put it in two
pans to bake it using the same ingredients for both halves. One Thanksgiving
her husband got irritated by this and asked her;
" Honey, why do you do that? " " Do what? " she asked. To which he answered;
" Cut the turkey in half. " " My mother always did
it that way. " was the
reply.
So when his mother in law came over for Thanksgiving dinner, he
asked her the same thing and got the same answer. Not being satisfied with
this, he called his wife's grandmother and asked why she always cut the
turkey in half. Her reply?
" It wouldn't fit into the pan. "
How many Christians today miss out on the blessings of God because the tradition
they follow will not allow them to grow close to Him?
