During this period of Lent I have been giving up an hours sleep each day and spending the time with God, reading the bible and praying. I have found that by starting each day with the Lord I am being blessed in all that I do during the day.
I long to see all who are sick healed, and those under demonic oppression delivered. I long to pray for those who need to be released from their bondage and set free to serve the lord.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer,
believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand
praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your
Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. Mark 11:24-25
People say that when they pray for others that prayers are not being answered,
or they say that they are not blessed in healing. Alternatively if they
do not see instant signs of miraculous healing they may blame the person
they are praying for, saying "they didn't have enough faith".
All of these statements are incorrect, when we pray for someone we are not
praying on the basis that their faith is strong, if this were the case we
would never get anyone to become Christians. How many times have you prayed
that a member of your family or a close friend would find Salvation and
give their life to Christ? We never say I can't pray that they will become
a Christian, because they have no faith. The whole concept negates itself
in that situation.
So when we pray for healing the responsibility for the prayer lies directly
with us. It is important to note that we shouldn't believe that we are not
good enough at prayer, or that God won't answer our prayers. The scripture
above clearly states the Lords intentions for our prayer lives, but all
too often we go into a time of prayer completely unsure of the outcome we
expect. We need to pray in the knowledge that we know what we are asking
God for and fully believing that he will deliver against that prayer. It
is not good enough to simply say "I give this too you God" or "I trust in
you to provide the right outcome".
If for example we are praying for healing for a person with Cancer, then
we need to tell God that is what we want and as we pray we must ensure we
know in our minds and hearts that God will deliver the person from their
Cancer. We should even affirm to the person that we are praying for that
Gods miraculous healing power is working in their lives and that they will
be completely healed and set free.
Next time you are asked to pray for someone, go in with a positive mind
knowing that your father will provide the healing you ask for. Have strength
through the Lords promise to give what ever you ask of him. And most importantly
learn to listen to God while you pray, hear what he is telling you and act
on it.
