Kevin Taylor's Bible Study God Bless you.

Did you know it matters to God? What you might ask. Everything! You are important to God. When you stop to think about it, it’s quite a daunting thought, to think that the great God of Israel, the great I AM, Yahweh, the father of our Lord Jesus Christ is interested in us. Not only that, but you are important to him, your well-being, your behaviour, your sin, your thoughts, your cares, your joys, your sorrows. When I first got saved I started to read the bible straight away, and I asked the Lord to show me from the Scriptures how much he Loved us. Well I can tell you this, that after six years I had to ask him to back off, because it was doing my head in. In Psalms David says: “ what is man that you are mindful of him?”. That is one question I can't answer. The only thing I do know is that he is mindful of us.

Luke 12 v 6-7 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet God forgets not one of them. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

What does this piece of scripture say to you? What it says to me is that God is interested in the little things. He even counts the hairs on our head. In the Old Testament, God gave Moses precise instructions on how to build the arc, and the tabernacle, and I’ve seen a simple truth here. Details matter to God. When you go to the Lord, he wont say “oh it’s you again” but he will say, “ hey, what kept you?” why? Because you matter to God. The devil will try to kid you that you’re a nuisance, a pest, or not wanted by the Lord at the moment because of your unworthiness. That isn’t what the Bible teaches.

1 Peter 5 v 7 “cast all your cares upon Him (Jesus) for He cares for you.”

Why? Because he doesn’t want you worrying, scheming, or taking on burdens. Cast them on the Lord. There too heavy for you but not for him. Let's look at it from another angle.

We must be sensitive to the Lord's will because it matters to God. Exodus 16 v 4-5 “ then said the Lord unto Moses, behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law or not. And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.” Exodus 16 v 19 “ and Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.”

Right that’s straightforward enough, but, lets take a look at what happens when we are not obedient to the Lord's will. Exodus 16 v 20 “ notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; and some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms and it stank: and Moses was wroth with them.”

Right, there is a lesson to be learned from this piece of Scripture which can be divided into two viewpoints. There are two main reasons why we should be sensitive to the Lord's will. Firstly, it’s for our benefit. Secondly, God is not mocked and He’s no fool. Those that think they know better than Him come unstuck. If He tells us to let go of something and we keep hold of it, we can be sure it will turn to worms and smell. Why? Because it matters to God. He only wants the best for us and we must be obedient in order to get the fullness of this in our lives. It obviously seemed a good idea to those people in the Scriptures we’ve just looked at to keep the manna over night. That way they would save themselves a job the next day. After all, there was plenty enough manna to do that. It was a good idea but it wasn’t a God idea. God knows best.

Isaiah 55 v 9 “For as the heavens are higher that the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

My brothers and sisters, whatever situation your in right now, whatever your going through whether it be good or bad, remember, it matters to God. If there’s something you should let go of, then let it go. If there’s something you must hold onto and wrestle through, then do that. I finish with one last scripture.

Philippians 4 v 6-7 “ Do not be anxious about anything, but in every thing, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

God bless you,
Love Kev
