This site and the privilege of sharing the word on the net
is a major blessing to me especially when you consider that only a year
ago I had never used a pc. But I have been obedient to the Lord, and been
taught, and now have this blessing bestowed upon me . Thank you Lord.

God bless you.
The Bible teaches us that we have an enemy. The enemy (also
known as Satan or the Devil) is out to trip you up whenever he can, and
anyway he can. He plays a bad game of cricket!
John 10 v 10 “The thief
(Devil) comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I (Jesus) have come that
they may have life, and have it to the full.”
The devil loves to get
us to doubt, loose heart or to get discouraged, and it is the opinion of
myself and many others that his number one target is to get us doubting
our salvation. He does this by getting us to believe that we aren’t good
enough, or that you have sinned too much lately, or a host of other dirty
tricks. In-fact any way he can to get you to think that you’re not really
saved. The devil has managed to pollute the minds of so many Christians
so that they doubt their salvation. Sadly some churches and even some international
preachers preach and teach that salvation is some sort of ‘un- obtainable’
goal only available to a few ‘top ranking, super spiritual Christians.’
My brothers and sisters, if you doubt your salvation you are playing into
the devils hands. Lets see what the Bible says.
John 3 v 16 “For God so
loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes
in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Romans 10 v 13 “For whoever
shall call upon the name of The Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10 v 9-10
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your
heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with
your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth
that you confess and are saved.”
Romans 5 v 9-10 “since we have now been
justified by his blood, how much moor shall we be saved from God’s wrath
through him! For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him
through the death of his son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall
we be saved through his life.”
Psalm 103 v 12 “As for as the east is from
the west, so for hath he removed our transgressions from us.”
1 Corinthians
3 v 14-15 “If what a man has built survives, he will receive his reward.
If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved.”
Acts 16 v 30-31 the jailer asked Paul and Silas, “Sirs, what must I do to
be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall
be saved, you and your household.”
Right then brethren, how much clearer
do you want it? If you want more, there’s plenty more where they come from.
God is in the business of saving people. First things first, what is meant
by being saved? Well to put it in layman’s terms you are saved from your
sins. Or saved from the consequences of your sins. You were on your way
to hell (lost) but now you are on your way to heaven (saved). There is only
one way to get saved and that is through the Lord Jesus Christ, your good
behaviour never could save you, but giving you life to Jesus and believing
wholeheartedly in him will save you. Repeat, will, ‘Not maybe’. The problem
seems to be that some people focus too much on the arguments of ‘loss of
salvation’ vs. ‘Once saved always saved’ theologies, rather that believing
God’s word and accepting this free gift of salvation and getting on with
it. The only thing that separated us from God was sin, but Jesus died and
rose to pay the price of our sins and bring us into a new and living relationship
with God, and that is the message of the gospel. If you belong to Jesus
you have been washed in his blood, and you are now ‘clean’ from your sins.
There are many good books on salvation, one that I would recommend is called
‘Back to basics’ by Dr Judson Cornwall. It is important for us to know that
we are saved and not to doubt it, because if we doubt it we will become
inward looking rather than outward looking and praying. Have you ever heard
of Smith Wigglesworth? Well this famous mighty man of God never doubted
his salvation, and he used to preach it. You may not feel like you are saved
at times but that doesn’t matter, you feelings are telling you lie’s. The
Bible outranks our feelings and it says,
Ephesians 2 v 8-10 “For it is
by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves,
it is a gift of God. Not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are
God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared
in advance for us to do”.
Smith wigglesworth once said “Our God has made it easy for us, all we have
to do is believe”. And with that I will say good- bye for this week, love
