This site and the privilege of sharing the word on the net is a major blessing to me especially when you consider that only a year ago I had never used a pc. But I have been obedient to the Lord, and been taught, and now have this blessing bestowed upon me . Thank you Lord.

Kevin Taylor's Bible Study God bless all of you.

Are you normal, or do you conform to the norm.? This is an open-ended question I’m sure you would agree, after all what is the norm? If that is the case, why are so many Christians getting so hung up about who they should be like, or what type of Christian they are, or even are they as “spiritual” as they should be. I have noticed in the body of Christ that there is a certain amount of peer pressure from various sources pointing to various role models in the church as to how an “Ideal Christian” should be, or whose teaching we should follow or which big name to look up to. This seems to me to be the world’s ideas not The Lord's, and lets be honest, we have all been down this alley at some time or another. Lets see what the bible says!

1 Corinthians 12 v 29 “Are all Apostils? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? But eagerly the best gifts.”

I know this scripture is speaking about spiritual gifts, but there is a biblical principle here. We are all different, no two Christians are the same. We will all differ on some things and agree on others. Also we will be right on some things and wrong on others. There is one thing we do agree on, that is that Jesus is Lord!

1 Corinthians 1 v 12 One of you says, “I follow Paul” someone else says, “I follow Apollos” or “I follow Cephas” still another says, “I follow Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptised into the name of Paul?

It’s clear from this scripture that the early Corinthian church had this same problem, so much so that Paul had to address the problem by redirecting their thinking. He points out that “Christ is not divided” and we were baptised into Jesus, and not into Paul or any one else’s name for that matter.

Brothers and sisters, don’t be anxious, God has made you, “YOU” and not someone else. If he had wanted you to be someone else he would have made you someone else and not you. Be yourself, and nobody else. If you are trying to be someone else it’s like saying God has got it wrong when he made you. Do you think God got it wrong? I don’t! If you view yourself as different, well maybe you are. So what, after all what is normal! God has got his hand and calling on your life, and if there’s any changes needed in you then God will bring them to pass. It’s called “sanctification.”

Philippians 1 v 6 “Be confident of this, He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” The truth is we are all different, and we all need each other, and these differences will come in handy.

1 Corinthians 12 v 14 “Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not be for that reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. If the whole body was an eye, where would its sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.”

Brothers and sisters the church (Body) needs you! There are jobs to be done that if you don’t do them, they wont get done. There are people’s lives that need speaking into and if you don’t say it, it won’t get said. In fact there is a “you” shaped hole in the body of Christ and if “you” don’t fill it, it won’t get filled. God made you warts and all. You are important and unique, and there is a reason for your existence, so if you are different and not normal, praise God, so am I. The reason for this teaching is to liberate you from any feelings of inadequacy due to the fact that you may not be like some of the big international preachers, or even like some of the “super spiritual ones” in your own church. God made you “YOU” and not them. The Lord uses them and he will use you also, you will see! I will finish with a scripture that my first pastor used to pray over us.

Ephesians 1 v 6 “To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he has made us accepted in the beloved.”

Bye for now, Kev & family.
