Is Marriage Obsolete? (By Don Argent) Part 2
Even
to this day God, treasures the marriage relationship, he never changes.
This relationship in marriage, man joined to woman for life illustrates
the relationship between Jesus the Christ, god the sun and his body the
church, you and I. Here is the scripture to substantiate this statement
taken from the message.
Ephesians 5:21-33 “Out of respect for Christ, be
courteously reverent to one another. Wives understand and support your
husbands in ways that show your support for Christ. The husband provides
leadership to his wife the way Christ does to the church, not by domineering
but by cherishing. So just as the church submits to Christ as he exercises
such leadership, wives should likewise submit to their husbands”.
Husbands,
go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ’s love makes the
church whole. His words evoke her beauty, dressing her in dazzling white
silk, radiant with holiness and that is how husbands ought to love their
wives. They are really doing themselves a favour-since they’re already
“One in marriage”.
No one abuses his own body, does he? No he feeds and pampers it. That’s
how Christ treats us, the church, since we are part of his body, and this
is why man leaves his mother and father and cherishes his wife. No longer
two, they become “one flesh”. This is a huge mystery, and I don’t pretend
to understand it all, what is clearest to me is the way Christ treats the
church, and this provides a good picture of how each husband is to treat
his wife, loving himself in loving her, and how each wife is to honour her
husband.
In the scripture we have just read we see the reason why the marriage bond
is so vital in gods estimation. As Paul writes, this huge mystery seen
in the love of god the son, Jesus Christ, The anointed one, for his church,
(you and I). Being reflected in the love of the husband for his wife.
I so want you to know something of this God type of love that God pours
out with out limit upon his church on you and I individually, the type of
love we should see in the marriage relationship. The scripture I use here
is from 1 Corinthians 13 verses 4 to 8 v 13 the Amplified Bible:
Love endures long and is patient and kind, love never is envious nor boils
over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself
haughtily. Love is not conceited (arrogant and lafated with pride); it
is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (Gods love
in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it not self-seeking,
love is not touchy or fretful or resented. Love takes no account of the
evil done to it (it pays no attention to suffered wrong). Love does not
rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth
prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever
ready to believe the best of every person, love’s hope’s are fadeless under
all circumstances, and it endures all things, love never fails (never fades
out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end). Faith, hope and love are the
quality that abide or last, the greatest of these is love.
There we have
it, yes marriage is absolutely necessary, and is most needful. Please note,
the God type of love never fails. You may fail in many areas of life, people
may fail you. But the love of God never fails. If you don’t have an intimate
relationship with God the Father, through Jesus god the son. Please make
that your top priority, the greatest necessity of your life. Get in touch
with Kev or someone else who can guide you into that loving relationship
that will ensure that you experience eternal life with God, Father, son
and holy ghost. It will also ensure that you enjoy life on earth with your
god given marriage partner.
I can highly recommend this God given life style; having with my wife Mary
just completed our marriage apprenticeship of 40 years. IT IS GREAT PRAISE
GOD WHO CREATED THEM, MALE AND FEMALE, MARRIAGE, ONE FLESH.
LOVE IN CHRIST
JESUS
Your brother in Christ, Don Argent.
