This site and the privilage of sharing the word on the net
is a major blessing to me especially when you consider that only a year
ago I had never used a pc. But I have been obedient to the Lord, and been
taught, and now have this blessing bestowed upon me . Thank you Lord.

"All work and no play makes Tony a dull boy" No it's not in the Bible it's
something my mother used to say when we were children. I wouldn't have minded
but my name is Kevin. My mother had lots of different sayings, for example,
if I started to moan or grumble she would say "I used to cry because I had
no shoes, until I saw a man with no feet". That soon put a stop to my moodiness. Praise God for parents.
Our heavenly Father teaches us in the Bible that
rest is an important part of our life, and if we don't get the right amount
of rest we will suffer accordingly. There are three scriptures I would like
us to look at today they are firstly, Mark 6 v 31-32 " And he (Jesus) said
unto them, come ye yourselves apart into a desert place and rest a while:
for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as
to eat". The second on is 1 Corinthians 6 v 19 " Do you not know that your
body is the temple of the Holy spirit, who is in you, whom you have received
from God?" And the third one is Matthew 11 v 28-30 " come to me all of you who are
weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn
from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for
your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light".
Can you spot the theme in these scriptures? It is of course (REST). Are you resting enough?
If not, why not? Before I write these articles I spend time in prayer, and
I believe that a lot of people reading this article are being convicted
by the Holy spirit to "come aside and Rest". It is easy to get caught up
in the world's way and live life in the fast lane. I have seen many Christians
doing this, some burning themselves out, believing this is the Lords doing.
Well not according to the Bible it's not. One of my pastor's sayings is
"I would rather appoint ten men, than do the work of ten men". This is
of course biblical, and with 50 years experience one has to listen to this.
I've got some questions for you. Do you know what day it is? Are you working all day then
when you get home starting again until late evening? Do you set time aside
to be with the Lord? Do you spend time with your spouse and family? Are
you working flat out in some project, maybe even a Christian project but
seeking recognition for yourself? Is somebody else putting a burden or
heavy work load upon you that is not from the Lord? Only you can answer
these questions, but if your not doing it right, in love I urge you to do
something about it. Remember the Lord made the world in six days and on the
seventh day he ??????
bye for now, love Kev.
